New year..new look

I needed a change. So I now have a sleek cleaned up simplified version of my blog. I love the fish. I saw that under gadgets and couldn't resist. You can feed them if you run your mouse over them!

Yesterday my family went out to one of my favorite restaurants, Maggiano's, to celebrate my birthday. We had a very fun time but Mackenzie felt it necessary to blow out the candle when I was examining it because she thought I would play with it. I do admit that I enjoy playing with candles and fire holds a certain fascination for me. She really did not need to do that though. But c'est la vie.

It has been extremely cold in the frozen north for the past few days. I went to work this morning and it was -15 degrees. Good way to slap you awake when that cold hits your face. It was a long day but went well. I was very glad to get home. I warmed the car up for 10 minutes before I left this morning and was warm on the way to work. I left work and finally started to warm up with heat when I turned two blocks from home. What's the point of it anyway.

Tomorrow is Sunday, no I guess it is Sunday now at least as of seven minutes ago. I intend to wash clothes and clean up my house. Great way to spend your day off. Too much to do and it is my own fault. Well the laundry couldn't be done because the floor drain was backing up. Service plus dude came to clean it tonight and come to discover that we have major problem under the floor. We had to run a camera in the drain because he was unable to unclog it and when he did, it came back with mud and sand. Not a good thing. It meant we had a broken pipe which will need to replaced which will cost us some bucks and help out a plumber who is yet to be determined. It's only money and it may mean no vacation this year. Oh well.

Time to shut down for the night. Happy New Year and a belated Merry Christmas. I hope the year holds good things for us all.

I like the new look! The fish were fun and of course I had to try it out... Yellow is one of my favorite colors, despite the fact that wearing it washes me out.

I am so glad you had a nice birthday! So sorry about the drain issue though. That happened to me years ago at my old house, and of course the break was just inside my property line, so I ended up paying for it... Whomever you use, don't use Dick's Water and Sewer: They were who did mine, they dug up a huge hole in the yard, then left us with no water/sewer for a long weekend before coming back to finish it (they were doing another job and the City pulled rank on them so they dug the hole to "show they were on it", then left...). Needless to say I wasn't happy with them despite it being close to 20 years ago!

Have a wonderful new year Deb!
