Foray into the unknown...

A new year is approaching. I want to set some goals for myself. Not resolutions cuz I never keep the damn things but maybe just maybe if I make them goals I will be able to achieve them.

I live with a certain person who shall remain unnamed who is a member of the Language Police. Anytime words of a certain kind are said, I hear a loud reprimand. I am going to try hard to use these words less frequently especially my all time that is spelled S-H-*-T. (if I spell it, she won't yell, NOT)

I am going to put things away.
I am going to tackle a chore every day.
I am going to spend less time picking my nose.
I am going to tell more people I love them.
I am going to appreciate myself for who I am.
I am going to stop listening to the lies.

Well now that I have set my goals. I have one more. I am going to try very hard to write in my blog on a more regular basis.

I put a counter on my blog to see if anyone really looks in on it besides Reina and obviously someone does cuz it would not be at 81 at the moment if they didn't.

I would appreciate any comments or a hi so I know who you are.

I also think I may reveal some of the more hidden aspects of myself. I just don't do it directly cuz I get nervous. More on that one in the future.

Hi! /Waves.... These sound really good, and I agree with you: goals are more achieveable than "resolutions". I would love to see you write more frequently, and that is a goal of mine as well. Maybe up to three times a week instead of twice? We'll see!

My own little corner of hell...

I believe in this thing called life we're all assigned our own little corner of hell to live through to help define the person we are and will be. It's not a case of feeling sorry for myself, although, an occasional pity party can work wonders. It's more how we face it, how we adapt to the situation that God has given us. I Cor 10:13 says  The only temptations that you have are the same temptations that all people have. But you can trust God. He will not let you be tempted more than you can bear. But when you are tempted, God will also give you a way to escape that temptation. Then you will be able to endure it. Take a few steps back...

Instead of complaining and whining I'm going to take a few steps back and see what all the challenges have produced or brought to me. Amy's feet and legs were badly infected and swollen. The only way they could be treated and healed was by her hospitalization. The Lord used Jim to save Amy's life. God had laid her on his heart with an urgent need to pray. He visited us and told her and then prayed for her. This convinced her she needed to go to the ER. We discovered a serious breathing issue that Amy had when she was hospitalized. Amy would've died and we had no clue. Amy had stopped breathing and had a CODE BLUE respiratory failure. An emergency team swarmed her room and I was alone. Bob has worked at the hospital a lot for years. I called him and he only heard a few words and came. When I saw his face in the door, behind all the staff, I went to him and fell apart.
